Four Vital Elements in Decision Making

… Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in the plain … haste thee … then the  Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone of fire … but his ( Lot’s)wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”

i)     Escape for thy life… Be diligent! The work at hand is the one that has to be well done.  Work hard on your plans.  Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.” In addition, Jesus tells us in John 5:17, “My Father worketh hitherto and I work.”  If the Creator and His Prince never stopped working, why must we?  Every decision without diligence and dedication is still a desire.

ii)    Look not behind thee, neither stay thou in the plain … Don’t compromise! Looking backward hinders progress and retards speed.  Compromising might mean settling for less than you deserve.  If you do, nobody will raise your value above what you settled for.

iii)   Haste thee… Be time conscious!  Learn to invest your time rather than spending it.  Set a time limit; regulate your mind and other available resources to conform to the standard set.

iv)   Endure, even when the goals are neither feasible nor visible.  Endurance is the ability to withstand pain and hardship and a catalyst that keeps decisions alive against all odds.

Beloved, the distinguishing feature between the ordinary and the extraordinary is the extra time invested, extra work done and extra burden bear.  Shalom!
