DESTRUCTIVE EXPECTATION AND WAYS TO OVERCOME IT

There is a huge problem when you sanction other people’s opinions above yours. Your decisions will be affected and your dispositions will be limited.

Considering other people’s opinions before deciding is not the same thing as advices or counsels; it is a destructive expectation that slows-down decision making process and impedes success.  It happens when you cannot make a move until somebody gives you a go-ahead nod or when you have to stop because someone feels it isn’t right – and when we live our lives like that, we are carrying extra loads, wearing ourselves out and making ourselves look insignificant.

It may grow into bitterness and hatred, a feel of rejection and low self-esteem.

Nobody has the right over your life but for as long as you allow them to exert their opinions over yours; you are giving away the control of your life to undeserving people and giving them the greatest opportunity to slow you down and probably turn you into a slave.

To live a joyful life;

1.     Realise, it is immaterial who criticises you if you succeed and it doesn’t matter who condemns you if you fail.  It is your life!

2.     Take charge of your life: Whether you run so fast or crawl slowly, people will talk. Do not think that every spectator in the stadium is happy with the goal scorer – he had scored against some people, he had scored for some, some have been plunged into debts and some have gained more wealth. Despite it all, he has to score great goals and celebrate the great goals to the chagrin of the opponents and for the amusements of his fans.

3.     Consider God, consider yourself and think less about what the people will say: You are a player. Everything depends on you; what people are thinking about you is immaterial. You don’t live your life on other’s opinions; you only thrive on God’s and that is the only opinion that matters. God will never encroach on your plans, why allowing human beings to do that? Live every moment as a joyful lamb. Throw your fists in the air if need be. Praise your God in the park as you wish. Shout openly if you want. It is your wish and it is your life.

4.     Learn to prioritize yourself; God never said love your neighbour more than yourself.
