Chelsea Emerges the Best Club in the World for the Year 2025 Plus a Complete Breakdown of the Prize Money


The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has concluded after a month filled with exciting football action. Chelsea emerged as champions, defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final, which took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Monday. With this victory, Chelsea became the first English club to win the Club World Cup twice.

Cole Palmer was the standout performer for Chelsea, scoring two goals and assisting João Pedro for a third goal. His excellent performance helped Chelsea take a strong 3-0 lead by halftime. The 23-year-old finished the season with a total of 18 goals for the champions. Pedro, who recently joined Chelsea for approximately £60 million, proved why the massive investment made in him was worth it.

 

Complete breakdown of the prize money

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 has a total prize pool of $1 billion set aside for the tournament. Out of this, $525 million is distributed among the participating teams, while the remaining amount is allocated for performance-based bonuses.

Top European clubs, such as Chelsea and PSG, receive higher participation fees based on their football and commercial rankings. These fees range from $12.81 million to $38.19 million.

 

Chelsea

Chelsea, the winners of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, earned a substantial amount from the tournament. Their participation fee is estimated to be between $33 million and $38.19 million.

In the group stage, Chelsea won two matches and lost one, earning $2 million for each victory, totalling $4 million. They received $7.5 million for reaching the Round of 16, $13.125 million for advancing to the quarterfinals, and $21 million for making it to the semifinals.

As finalists, they were awarded an additional $30 million, and for winning the final, they received an extra $40 million.

Total estimated earnings – $186.815 million.


Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)

PSG were the favorites heading into the final, especially after their impressive 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in the semifinals and a strong nine-match streak during which they conceded just one goal. Even as runners-up, their earnings were not significantly different from those of the champions (Chelsea).

 

As finalists, they received a bonus of $30 million, along with an additional $30 million for finishing as runners-up.
